UPDATE:

As of 11:00 am on 03/03/2025, the Picacho Road Bridge is closed until further notice.  Updates regarding any repairs and possible reopening date will be shared as more information is obtained.

On Monday, 03/03/2025, Imperial County Public Works staff will close to all traffic the Picacho Road (S-24) Bridge over the Yuma Main Canal. The County’s staff determined that this safety measure is needed after a vehicle collided with the bridge guard rail last week. The County retained an engineering consultant which will perform an assessment and recommend repairs, if any, that when completed would allow for the safe reopening of the bridge.

During the closure, residents and visitors may access homes and community facilities including the Tribal Administration Building, Fort Yuma Health Care Center, Paradise Casino, Quechan Community Center, and San Pasqual Schools using the Ocean-to-Ocean Bridge or by following the detour signs through Winterhaven to Arnold Road and to Picacho Road.

Please use caution, pay attention to the warning signs, and avoid this closure zone. Updates regarding the repairs and possible bridge reopening will be shared as more information is obtained.
