July 17, 2024-Fort Yuma Indian Reservation, CA-The Quechan Indian Tribe is pleased to
announce that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California has ruled in favor of the Tribe, granting approximately $8.2 million in damages. This decision comes after a prolonged legal battle concerning the destruction of culturally significant and archaeological sites on our
reservation due to a federal government construction project.
The court's ruling acknowledges the profound importance of preserving our cultural heritage and
the irreversible harm caused by the government's actions. The damages awarded will be directed towards restoration efforts, preservation of remaining sites, and the continuation of our cultural
practices and traditions.

President Jordan Joaquin and the Quechan Tribal Council has issued the following Notice regarding the San Carlos Apache Tribe affected by the Watch fire.
Thunderstorm chances through midweek will be confined mainly across the Arizona high terrain before better chances return to the desert floor for the latter half of the week.
Above normal temperatures will continue with widespread Moderate HeatRisk.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect through 8 PM MST/PDT on Thursday, July 11th for the AZ lower deserts and southeastern CA.

Increase in thunderstorm activity for the latter half of this week in AZ high terrain, with slight chance (20%) in Gila County by Thursday.
Tonawanda Lateral Structure Replacement project that is now under construction.
Arnold Road is now scheduled to close between the work hours of 6:00 am to 4:00 pm beginning Monday, July 8, 2024, through Friday, July 12, 2024.
The road will reopen after 4:00 pm each day and remain open during non-work hours.
Please use caution, pay attention to the warning signs, and drive safely when in this area.

The farmers did not burn the fields today, June 27, 2024. They will be burned tomorrow, June 28, 2024 at approximately 9:00 am.
