On June 8, 2020, the Yuma County Area Transit YCAT confirmed that one of our YCAT employees have tested positive for COVID-19. It is not confirmed that the exposure happened while on duty, but it is important that we remain vigilant in our effort to reduce the spread. Employee’s last date at work was May 30, 2020.
As recommended by the Yuma County Public Health Services and the guidelines for the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), management has notified all employees within our organization of the possible exposure.
Every effort is being made to continue the daily sanitization of our buses and bus shelters as well as practicing social distancing while on our buses.
The protection of our community and employees is a top priority for YCIPTA/YCAT, while providing a critical service we also must stress the importance of using this service only when absolutely necessary and limit unneeded contact and keeping with the recommended social distancing practices.
Individuals experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, fever, shortness of breath) should contact their healthcare provider and/or call the Public COVID-19 Inquiry Line at 844-542-8201 (24/7) or 211 (8 am – 8 pm Daily).
