An unseasonably cold weathersystem for Sunday is likely to lead to snow over the higher elevations of Arizona (see details section for amounts) and windy conditions in SE CA and SW AZ.
Widespread freezing temperatures expected for Maricopa County, N Pinal County on Monday and Tuesday morning.
A hard freeze is expected in the AZ high terrain on Monday and Tuesday morning.
CHANGES FROM PREVIOUS BRIEFING
• Upgraded to Freeze Warning for Tonto Basin and NW Pinal County from 3 AM to 9 AM MST Saturday morning for freezing temperatures.
• Added Freeze Warning for far SE portions of the Valley, Superior, and desert areas around Tonopah from 3 Am to 9 AM MST Saturday
morning for freezing temperatures.
• Increased the risk level to moderate for widespread freezing temperatures across the central deserts Monday and Tuesday mornings.
• Increased the risk level to moderate for a hard freeze across the high terrain Monday and Tuesday mornings.
