ELECTION BOARD CALENDAR 2022
CALL FOR TRIBAL ELECTION
- Announcement to Tribal Members on General Election on December 5, 2022 we will be voting for President (1) – Vice President (1) - five (5) Council Member seats.
- Letters will be sent out September 22, 2022
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
- October 3, 2022 – Petition for Nominations can be picked up from the Tribal Secretary at the Administration Office
- All nominations must be submitted to Council and certified as a legal candidate within “10 days of [receiving] nominations” per QTC Article V-Section-2
- November 25, 2022 – 5:00 P.M LAST DAY for NOMINATIONS to be accepted by Council for Official Ballot. Certified Candidates pick up Candidate packets at the Election office open until 7:00 P.M - ?
CALL FOR ‘CANDIDATES QUALIFICATION’ PACKETS
- October 17, 2022 – Application for “Candidate Qualification” can be picked up at the Election Board Office from 8:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M. Monday-Friday at the Quechan Library Building – Quechan Election Office.
CALL FOR ABSENTEE BALLOT REQUESTS
- October 3, 2022 – All requests must be filed with the Secretary of the Council and will be picked up by the Board when recorded and received.
- November 26, 2022 – All Absentee Ballot requests will be FEDEX
POST TRIBAL ELECTION NOTICES
- November 4, 2022 – Public notice of polling place to be posted in at least three (3) conspicuous areas on the Quechan Reservation: Tribal Office, Quechan Community Center and Pipa Market.
POST ELIGIBLE VOTER LIST
- November 28, 2022 – Posting of Eligible Voter List required to be posted in at least three (3) conspicuous areas on the Quechan Reservation: Tribal Office, Quechan Community Center and Pipa Market.
TRIBAL ELECTION DAY
- Monday December 5, 2022 – Quechan Community Center – 7:00 A.M to 7:00 P.M

TALLY OF VOTES
- Monday December 5, 2022 or Tuesday December 6, 2022 tally of the votes are completed.
CONTEST OF ELECTION
- Thursday December 8, 2022 or December 9, 2022 – Last day to Contest the Election. Statements must be turned in to the Election Office by 5:00 P.M (The date depends on the time Tribal Council accepts the canvass). If there is a contest, Certification by the Tribal Council will be at a later date.
NO CONTEST OF ELECTION
- If there is no contest, the newly voted Council will be certified by the Tribal Council. (The date depends on the time Tribal Council accepts the canvass)
