2024 Hurricane Season Forecast

The Quechan Office of Emergency Management would like to provide you with some information on the upcoming monsoon season.

The 2024 Summer into Fall weather patterns are looking to be very active according to long range forecasts. Please make sure you are prepared.

Have the following supplies on hand and in good working order.

1. Flashlights with extra batteries.
2. Bottled Water.
3. Snacks and nonperishable foods.
4. Cell phones are charged prior to storm arrivals.
5. Building generators are serviced and tested (where applicable).
6. Vehicles are in good working order and fuel is never below half a tank.
7. All building and storm drains are free and clear of debris.
8. Emergency phone numbers are posted clearly in an area accessible to all.

All storm information will be sent out through the OEM (Quechan Office of Emergency Management). This will be done via the Red Flag Alert System that some of you have already subscribed to on your cell phones. If you need to subscribe to the alert system, Text Quechan to 444222. If you’re assigned a tribally owned and issued cell phone, this is mandatory for that phone as you need to be able to receive incoming storm information.
