Quechan Housing Authority is seeking volunteers to assist Self-Help grant recipients by providing labor on their home project to meet program requirements.
Volunteer activities include but are not limited to:
Demoing and demo cleaning
Interior/Exterior Painting
Yard cleanup and more
Any skill trades are welcome

Yuma Desert Contractors will be performing approved control burns in the Ranch 5 area to prepare the land for new construction of a subdivision. Burning will attempt to begin on Monday, April 29th with approval from Air Quality Control. Burning is planned to continue throughout the month of May until area is cleared.

Today: Highs in the mid to upper 90s across the lower deserts resulting in localized Moderate HeatRisk from Phoenix through southeast CA.
Highs in the low to mid 90s Tuesday and lower 90s Wednesday. Near normal temperatures return by Thursday, lasting through next weekend.
Breezy conditions will be common over much of the area each day starting Tuesday with afternoon gusts of 20-25 mph. There is also potential for locally windy conditions and gusts to around 30 mph which may bring elevated fire weather conditions midweek.
Daily highs in the 90s across the lower deserts will put the area into the upper part of the minor HeatRisk category through at least Monday. Localized Moderate HeatRisk in SE CA Sunday.
Locally windy this evening in Imperial Co. Potential for breezy to locally windy conditions later next week.
Dry conditions to persist.
Cooling trend starting next Tuesday with near normal temperature returning later next week.
The Revised Agenda for the Work Session on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10:00 am in the Quechan Tribal Chambers will be:
- Widespread Minor HeatRisk Today and Saturday with high temperatures peaking between 90-95°F Today.
- Breezy to locally windy conditions Friday through Sunday, with widespread 20-30 mph gusts and locally 35-40 mph.
- Passing system this weekend will keep conditions breezy into early next week and cool temperatures down.
Temperatures warm back to near normal by Tuesday and near 90°F by Wednesday.
A Tribal Distribution of 3.5 million has been approved by the Quechan Tribal Council. The amount for Adults and Minors will be $874.78. The Minors payment will be placed in their trust account with Providence First Trust Company. Distribution will be held at the Quechan Community Center from 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. on May 10, 2024. After 6:00 p.m. all remaining checks will be mailed out to the current mailing address on file with the Revenue Distribution Department.
